Max Bowen Speaks brings together the vocal creations of Max Bowen, podcast/radio host, public speaker, reporter, writer, voice over talent and genuine nice guy. He is the host and founder of Citywide Blackout, an podcast focused on the heart and soul of the story behind the story, featuring guests who create works we love — from music, the arts, books, films and much more — every week.
With roots on radio at Boston’s beloved WEMF Internet station, Max’s show began in April 2009 as a platform to highlight the stories of musicians in the region. Later, the show expanded to include authors, comic book creators, filmmakers and other guests around the world.
Today, Citywide Blackout reaches over 2,000 fans every month around the world via Spotify, Podbean, Amazon Music, and Apple Podcasts alone. Since the show's inception, Max has interviewed over 1,600 guests and recorded more than 570 episodes.

"Interviewing with Max felt like catching up with an old friend, which is ironic considering our interview was the first time we met! Being an artist, it means a lot to me when an interviewer takes the time to learn about you beforehand and craft specific questions just for you, rather than generic questions everyone asks. Max's questions were thoughtful, relevant and at times challenging, in a wonderful way. I left our conversation feeling genuinely heard and understood, and happy to have made a new friend." — Natalie Joly, Pop Rock Recording Artist
"My last radio gig was on Citywide Blackout with Max. After working with him there was nothing more for me to do. It was a great time. He always booked great guests and knew what to talk about. A real pro and cares about his craft. It was an honor to work with him." —Jeff Royds, Former Citywide Blackout Co-host
